Barbola Funeral Chapel is proud to be the only funeral home in this area to feature an Aftercare Program. Aftercare involves taking care of families after a funeral to let them know what to expect during their journey of grief.

Gretchen Koch is our Aftercare Specialist, and she is a Master's level counselor specializing in grief and loss. She works with individuals, families, schools and civic groups and also facilitates support groups throughout the area.

Barbola Funeral Chapel often provides the following for each family: Educational grief materials / resources for you and your family Grief support basket containing items to help and support you One session with Ms. Koch and designated family member(s) to discuss grief concerns and loss issues Contact via cards or telephone on your loved one's birthday, anniversary, holidays and other special days for one year Announcements of special grief ceremonies / functions that we sponsor throughout the year, or that we are aware of, that may assist you or your family

If you desire to continue meeting with Ms. Koch after the one session outlined above, you may do so through her private counseling agency.
