Marilyn R. Newman
Marilyn Rose Newman, age 71, of Princeton, died peacefully on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin.
She was born August 14, 1952, in Rhinelander, WI, the daughter of Matthew and Rose Pavlicek Kalver. Marilyn was a 1970 graduate of Rhinelander High School. On June 15, 1974, she was united in marriage to David Newman in Green Lake County. She attended Nicolet Technical College.
Marilyn was a housewife and affectionately known as “softball and basketball mom”. She enjoyed being outdoors gardening, spending time at the cabin, deer hunting and especially the time she was able to spend with her grandkids. Marilyn was on a bowling league for many years and liked having lunches with the ladies. A true WI supporter, on the weekends in the Fall, you’d find her cheering on her favorite teams, the WI Badgers and Green Bay Packers. She was loved by those who met her.
She is survived by her two daughters, Amy (John) Hanninen and Becky (Kwong Liu) Newman; three grandchildren, Matthew, Skyler and Amadalyn; two brothers, Dick (Linda) Klaver and Charles (Brenda) Klaver; two sisters, Betty Slizewski and Carol Klaver-Schultz; nieces, nephews and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, David Newman, on July 13, 2020; and her parents.
