Lillian M. Osterberg
Lillian M. “Lill” Osterberg, age 84, of Berlin, died on Thursday, October 25, 2018, at Patriot Place in Berlin surrounded by her family.
She was born June 13, 1934, in Stoughton, WI, the daughter of Marvin “Jack” and Lillian Lhotak Hansen. Lill was a 1952 graduate of Stoughton High School and attended the School of Cosmetology in Madison. On July 25, 1953, she was united in marriage to Neil Osterberg in Stoughton.
Lill was the secretary at Clay Lamberton School for many years. She was a member of the Berlin Boat Club, Berlin River Riders Snowmobile Club and Berlin Senior Center. She shared her talent as a singer in the choir at All Saints Catholic Parish and the Berlin Senior Singers. Lill loved spending time outdoors camping, snowmobiling, boating and fishing. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Berlin.
She is survived by her four children, Sue (Ron) Mathia, Don (Terri) Osterberg, Terri (Steve) Stellmacher and Dave (Catherine Kujawa) Osterberg; twelve grandchildren, Vicki (Jason) Paulus, Jenny (Brian) Sonnentag, Matt (Courtney) Mathia, Wade Osterberg, Joe (Kellen) Stellmacher, Brad Stellmacher, Amanda Osterberg, Nick (Chelsie) Osterberg, Dane Osterberg, Bria Osterberg, Nya Osterberg and Elyse Osterberg; 12 great-grandchildren, Abby, Kaylyn, Leah, Brady, Karlie, Carter, Bryler, Bowen, Jack, Bennett, Aurora and Maverick; and one brother, Marvin (“Ro”) Hansen Jr. Lill was preceded in death by her husband, Neil in 1996; and her parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 29, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Tuesday one hour prior to the services at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, October 30, at 11:00 a.m., at All Saints Catholic Parish in Berlin, Father David Greenfield officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. A memorial has been established for the Berlin School District. The family wishes to extend a thank you to the staff at Patriot Place and Heartland Hospice for their special care of Lill.
