Lana C. Otto

Lana Collette Otto, age 81, of Oshkosh, died peacefully on Monday, August 22, 2022, at The Residence at Oshkosh.

She was born October 28, 1940, at home in Oshkosh, the daughter of Charles and Lucille Thorson Knowles. Lana was a 1958 graduate of Oshkosh High School, where she enjoyed playing trombone. She was in the Drum & Bugle Corp Marching Band and also played in Salvation Army Band. Lana studied to be a machinist at Fox Valley Technical College.

Lana worked for Bemis as a machinist for 25 years. She also worked for Mondells Sporting Goods, Mercury Marine and seasonally at Miles Kimball in Oshkosh. Lana used to like bumming around and visiting with people.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Shawn) Kalbus; daughter, Kathy Eid (significant other, Mike Klika); nieces and nephews, Vicki Simer, Jacci (Andrew) Mallard, Kathy Miersch, Jay (Sue) Knowles and Joe Knowles; and special friends, Karen, Jane, Wendy, Diane (Duke), JoAnn, Mary and Barbara. Lana was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Chester Knowles and Gerald Knowles; two sisters, Karen Jaeger and Shirlee Miersch; and nephew, Darryl Miersch.

Private graveside services with inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Oshkosh. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Memorials may be directed to Salvation Army.
