Arthur O. Tetzke

Arthur Oscar Tetzke, age 90, of Berlin, died peacefully on Monday, December 30, 2019, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton.

He was born November 16, 1929, in the Township of Rushford, the son of Oscar and Edna Schroeder Tetzke. Art attended Stone School and was a 1948 graduate of Omro High School. He served his country as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952, where he received a Bronze Star for Valor. On March 1, 1952, he was united in marriage to Elaine Krebs at First Baptist Church in Berlin.

Art owned a dairy farm for 21 years and worked for the Berlin Foundry for 22 years. He was a member of Berlin Foundry Old Timers Association, VFW Wells-Krause Post #2925, Korean War Veterans Association, Berlin Senior Center and Berlin United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his two sons, Allen (Judy) Tetzke and Bruce (Susan) Tetzke; two daughters, Lois Tetzke and Judy Rich (fiancé, Kurt Brzeski); nine grandchildren, Eugene Tetzke, Kevin (Donna) Tetzke, Brittany Tetzke, Stephanie Tetzke, Christopher Tetzke, Trevor (Jenny) Rich, Darrick Rich, and Tasha Rich; five great-grandchildren, Bryce Tetzke, Jessika Meuler, Tyffany Meuler, Elena Rich and Harrison Rich; one step-great-grandson, Josh (Cassie) Stewart; and one step-great-great-grandson, Parker Stewart; brother-in-law, Gordon Krebs; sister-in-law, Elaine Tetzke; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Art was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elaine, on March 24, 2018; sister, Dorothy (Pete) Mattice; brother, Alvin Tetzke; and sister-in-law, Lousene Krebs.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin, and on Friday one hour prior to the services at Berlin United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 10, at 11:00 a.m., at Berlin United Methodist Church, Rev. Larry Rieck officiating. Interment with military honors will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Berlin United Methodist Church. The family wishes to thank their church family, the staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center-Appleton and ThedaCare at Home.
