Donald R. Thorsen
Donald Roy Thorsen, of Oshkosh, formerly Berlin, died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, August 25, 2020, a very young 86 year old, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.
He was born March 4, 1934, in Berlin, the son of Roy and Edna Evensen Thorsen. Don was a 1952 graduate of Berlin High School. He was united in marriage to Ardene Krause on October 4, 1971. She preceded him in death on August 2, 1998. On March 20, 2000, Don was united in marriage to Carol Neubauer in Palm Beach, FL. Don was owner-operator of Thorsen Motors in Berlin for 46 years. He will always be remembered as a kind, respected business person.
Don is survived by his wife, Carol; son, Robert (Martha) Thorsen; four grandchildren, Nikki (Bryan) Fletcher, Stacy (Mike) Sayler, Bobby Thorsen and Tom Thorsen; three great-grandchildren, Ellery, Beckett and Zoe; one sister, Karen (Linc) Betler; nephew, Don (Dawn) Betler; and nieces, Kathy (Peter) Blaas and Nancy Gimenez.
The only time goodbye is painful is when you know you will never say hello again. Don would like you to know he has completed his earthly assignment, and has gone beyond the veil to his heavenly home. Those who departed from this earth during his lifetime were cheering with open arms upon his arrival in heaven.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Oshkosh Area Humane Society or Green Lake Area Animal Shelter.
